Thought it might be fun to see how everyone else ranks the Friday the 13th movies. Rank them from 1 to 12, 1 being your favorite and 12 being your least favorite. Here is mine: 1. Freddy vs. Jason (2003) 7. Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood (1988) 8. Friday the 13th (2009) 9. Jason X (2002) 10. Jason goes to Hell: The final Friday (1993) 11. Friday the 13th Part 5: The New beginning (1985) 12. Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason takes Manhattan (1989)

Jason Goes to Hell is the worst. I mean you hardly see Jason at all and that's a no-no with me.

Am I the only one who rated part 5 relatively high? I think it is a fun movie probably the funniest one. The music is great as well.

Jason Goes to Hell is the worst. I mean you hardly see Jason at all and that's a no-no with me. Yea, this one is low on my list as well. But none let me down more than Jason takes Manhattan. All the hype that surrounded this one prior to it's release, coupled with all the trailers showing Jason actually in NYC had me pumped to see this one on opening day. You can only imagine how let down I was when I saw the film that should have been titled Friday the 13'th part 8: Jason Goes to Sea! 3/4 of the movie is on the boat going to the city. To me this was the biggest smack in the face to the fans and this fan was not amused by their little ruse. It will always remain my least favorite for this reason.

Am I the only one who rated part 5 relatively high? I think it is a fun movie probably the funniest one. The music is great as well. I sort of always referred to this one as the, Halloween 3: Season of the Witch, of the Friday the 13th Series. No Jason, just a crazed Paramedic using the Jason Guise to take revenge on some adjudicated youths after his son was murdered by one of them. As far as the series goes the only importance this film offers is the fact that Tommy still has recurring visions of Jason and still hasn't obtained closure on what happened to him as a child. Thus eventually driving him to get closure at the beginning of part 6 by taking that trip to the cemetery. When I first saw this one back in '85 I was really down on it because there was no Jason and by this time in the series HE WAS THE STAR! Today, I look on this film with a lighter heart and find it somewhat enjoyable.

A New Beginning rarely gets any love, however I find it to be one of my favorites.
First off, the film SCREAMS 80's slasher - Tits, Blood, Gore, Humor etc. Secondly, besides numerous memorable scenes and quotes, most people fail to realize how true the film is to the original.
No Jason? So WHAT?
The story is about a father who lost is mentally challenged child due to the negligence of a specific camp and its environment. The fact that most Horror Fans seem to miss that, while immediately dismissing the film for being "shit" is rather silly.
Granted, this is simply my opinion.
