DVDs, mainly because I buy a lot of cheap DVDs and because I've been buying them since 2000.

Mostly DVD's. But I buy my absolute favorite movies on Blu Ray (Blade Runner, Kill Bill)

I still, mainly, only collect DVD's (I only own 2 BRD's.) BRD's are still a bit too expensive to justify not buying the DVD, especially when the DVD format is still excellent. The price of BRD's will have to come down at least $10.00 for new movies before I start a serious BRD collection. Until that happens, I'll just continue to rent BRD's at Netflix, which is fine enough, for now, for me.

while most BDs are going for 24.99 on realease date (which is cheap considering some cost almost 40 bucks on release date about a year and a half ago) i do agree that it is still expensive to start owning BDs all together...
another thing you gotta think about is Picture Quality ... some movies do look better then others while some were not worth the money on BD... i recommend Blu-ray.com for all your review searches.
ANOTHER thing to think about ... if your a Special Feature buff like me ... you have to becarefull with what you buy... for instance ... Man on Fire on DVD has a good amount of Special Features BUT the BD is a bare bones release ... i never understood that even on dvd ... that space for nothing .... and this new thing that they are doing ... including a dvd copy of a movie with all the special features along with the bare bones BD (not the disney version of this) is cool and all but what if i want to hear the DVD commentary i have to switch out my BD and pop in my DVD ?? that sucks
theres alot of factors to consider ...

That will probably happen within the next couple of years. Wal-mart will probably be the first major company to do it since they already sell some for $10.

Blu-Ray. Dvd is fine, though I like BD cause of the quality.
