I can't wait either. One of the better remakes.

I LOVE Friday The 13th series, but I was so let down with the remake/re-imagination that was made, and although it was bad, i'd still buy it on DVD just for the collection I suppose. Still, I felt the actual movie was a letdown and quite boring to be honest. I hope the Nightmare On Elm Street re-imagination turns out better

I haven't liked ANY of the remakes that have come out this decade. Mostly because the original movies they remade were all better than any remake could ever be. Yeah- I hear a lot of people liked the remakes of Hills Have Eyes better than Craven's far superior original. But, it did nothing for me.
The thing about the Friday the 13th remake is that... the original wasn't very good. Neither was Part 2. So, I don't mind that they remade it - unlike The Fog, Black Christmas, The Hills Have Eyes, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn of the Dead, and a few others.
But then I heard the director and the actors on the His Name Was Jason DVD talking about the remake and about how they wanted the movie to make up for the fact that horror has no more nudity... That's not the problem with horror these days. The problem with horror is that it thinks it's so realistic - that it's gotten stale and boring. So, I'm not down for seeing a sleazy new slasher movie. I'd rather see a really scary movie. One that doesn't try to be anything. I want a movie that just IS. No pretending, no pandering.

I really want to get those DVDs but I'm just going to wait for a potential new boxset.

I don't think another boxset will be out for a while, if they do, it'll most likely be Blu-ray in my opinion.
I wonder if they'll re-release 7 and 8 on DVD now too though, since they re-released the first six.

It's not a matter of whether DVDs sell better, they just released a DVD set for Friday the 13th.
It's like the Batman set, they went ahead and released it on Blu-Ray instead of going for a new Batman set.

It's not a matter of whether DVDs sell better, they just released a DVD set for Friday the 13th. 5 years ago. That's not really "just." If they can make more selling a DVD boxset than a Blu-Ray, even if they already released it, they'll do it.

Did anyone notice a difference between the Theatrical Cut and the Killer Cut?
I saw it in theaters and watched the Killer Cut DVD and didn't notice anything different, and I was actively looking for differences.

Did anyone notice a difference between the Theatrical Cut and the Killer Cut? Did anyone like the movie enough to care?

I like the series, though it's not as good as Freddy's Nightmares of American Gothic.
I hope there will be a Dvd and Blu-Ray set with all the Deluxe Editions and the Remake. I would pick that up like That.
