Best werewolf movies in existence. Which is better?
Personally, I loved American Werewolf better then Howling. But, tell me what your opinion is.

Hmmm I Haven't Watched Either Of These Movies In Quite A While, But I Always Remember Preferring American Werewolf Over The Howling, I Used To Watch It All The Time As A Kid.

I've always said Howling has by far and away the better transformation sequence. AWiL's transformation takes place without the benefit of any mood, in bright lights, with icky FX, and to "Blue Moon." The Howling's transformation is much creepier and moodier. And LOOK at those eyes and those fangs!!! It really gets to you. Plus, crank the volume up on the 5.1 mix for the MGM DVD...it buzzes right into you, it's amazing. You can FEEL it, through your skin.
Howling has the better music score too. But, in terms of writing... AWiL wins, hands down. As for what movie is scarier - Howling. You have to love that ending, too. "Rare..." Overall, though - mood is most important. And, for the most time, I was really sucked in to AWiL and I stayed interested longer. The Howling loses me a lot of the time. It might be Bill, I don't like him as a character. Whereas I really did like everyone in AWiL.
I choose AWiL. Because it has a few more classic scenes than Howling. Especially the porno theater scene with the talking corpses, the scenes where dead Jack comes to warn David (they are creepy!), the subway scene, and the scenes of Jack and David walking at night and while it got dark outside.

Yeah, that attack scene with Jack at the beginning still makes me jump. Of course, great make-up effects by Rick Baker.

American Werewolf, by a long way.
The Howling has not aged terribly well, alas.

Without a doubt, American werewolf in london. The howling was alright, but personally there are several werewolf movies I enjoyed more. Such as Silver Bullet. Dog Soldiers and Bad Moon were maybe a little better also in my opinion.

Plus the Howling dawn a whole bunch of Bad Sequels! American Werewolf Paris was not that good either because of the CGI effects and John Landis didn't Direct it!
