Has anyone heard the rumors about Sony potentially blocking the ability to play used games with their new Playstation Orbis? Gamestop's CEO Paul Raines supposedly made a statement doubting the likeliness of the transition, but honestly I didn't know an argument existed with companies over consumers who purchase used products. If Sony successfully does this, who's to say movie players and used trade-in stores wouldn't be the next to suffer in the future? I usually play only Computer Games, so it doesn't really affect me. I'm not exactly sure how Sony and Microsoft intend to block used games, but even if they don't go through with the idea for this, it still implies that there are companies that see used media as a problem. So technically it could indirectly affect you if you ever plan on upgrading to a new computer in later years. That's if they could apply such a technology without losing too much business.
