My 10 top movie choices right now would totally be something like this...( I'm sure there's a TON and narrowing it down to 10 is almost impossible but lets give it a go )...It will all probably be from AT LEAST my youth days since they are the most memorable to me.
1-Anything Pee Wee Herman ( my childhood hero )
2-Any season of AMAZING STORIES ( this show was so amazing, seriously ). I was glued in front of the TV for this show when I was little. If I remember right, I saw Shawn run by it in one of his segments of his YouTube videos so I believe he has it-ask him. This is hands down, a MUST buy. I know there's the First Season... and I see a Second Season but I'm not sure it has become available as of yet. Who doesn't forget that opening intro to this show!? NOT ME!!
3-I know this one's a holiday one but this movie is special to me plus I just think it's great, "Santa Claus The Movie". The whole vibe and atmosphere of this movie just made me REALLY excited for Christmas to open presents when I was little. It made me feel good that good 'ole Santa helped out the young homeless boy. You had 2 different sides of the spectrum here too....the young homeless boy and then the rich and wealthy little girl who helped the littel homeless boy and seemed to really like him. What a great story though. I would put this at the top of the list.
4-Any of the early classic 80s creature movies like- Gremlins, Critters, Ghoulies, etc. They all had this fun but dark vibe going on that was really captivating for the films then. Also, MUST buys.
5-Oh man, certainly others that hold a special place for me are like the early 80s sci-fi/fantasy films: Krull, Beastmaster,Legend, Willow,Labyrinth, etc. These films are truly unbeatable for their genre.
6-Transformers The Movie ( not the new movie that came out )- The cartoon movie from the early 80s. Seriously, I was ALL about Optimus Prime back then. As a matter of fact, I still have ALL of my transformers 24 years later. They will be with me till the day I fall asleep for good.
7- I'm going to add 3 more TV series shows that are necessities on my list: The A-Team tv series, the Nightrider show and the "V". These are all on DVD and also hold a place for the top of my list.
8-Ok, this movie will live with me forever- a true old school classic dark comedy with Jim Carrey: "Once Bitten". I use to dream about this movie ALOT. How could you not at the small age of 10? A true classic to say the least. You should DEFINITELY look this movie up.
9-This one is pretty much a fan favorite here: "The Goonies". You just don't ever forget...."one eyed Willy". I was pretty fascinated with all the contraptions in this movie like what Data had and the underground tunnnels. When your a kid, seriously, what's better then that!?!? It just sticks with you. Also, if you didn't have a crush on Kerri Green who played "Andy", there was something wrong. She was extremely pretty. *Gulp* Especially after she made out with Sean Astin in the dark...LOL. Come on, I was 10!
10- And last but not least, I had my Star Wars....and my Indiana Jones. Of course without saying, they are pure classics that has and always will be for time to come.
Wow, I actually made it through a top 10. When I look back at those titles, I can almost smell the air from when I was little again. It's so weird! Anywho- if you don't have some of these titles, check them out..they are ALL great!! I seriously MAY have to add a Part2 but not sure.
Alrighty, ENJOY!
Cheers- Dain
