Ever went to the movies and something weird happened? Zany? Funny? Annoying? Stupid? Watcha-ma-call-it?
And I'm not talking about the movie itself I'm talking about your personal experience with the other people viewing the film!
Anyway I have one particular experience to share -
1. Movie: The Eye (2008) - About 3 months ago, in January, me and my friend Dan went to go see the American remake of "The Eye". I must be honest, the only reason we were attracted to see the film was because Jessica Alba was in it but thats besides my point.
Anyway, before the trailers started rolling some little girls came in, maybe 4 or 5 of them and they were probably 10 or 11 years old. No problem, we hardly even noticed them until one got up and startedd talking really loudly but that didn't really bother me. Skip ahead about 15 minutes, the 3 trailer is about half-way through as about 15-20 more little pre-teens waltz through the movie theater door. Both boys and girls. We thought it was a party, but there was no supervision whatsoever. So I thought "Why are all these little kids coming to see "The Eye""?, but I soon realized it was rated PG-13 so all these little kids must've felt like big boys and girls waltzing in at a PG-13 movie.
So now theres atleast 20 ten year olds sitting in the first three (and filling them all up) rows at the front of the theater. So we were like "What the Hell is this? Why are they all here right now?" But they didn't really bother that much, yet. Skip ahead another 20 minutes. The little kids attention spans must've expired because all-of-a-sudden a small rumble rung out in the room. These little kids would not stop talking, and loud enough so you couldn't even hear the movie! So these girls that my friend knew, who are a year younger than us, started screaming "Shut the fuck up!" And believe it or not, they shut up!
But, sadly that wasn't the end of it. They must've gotten there confidence back up and started talking again and the girld yells "Shut up, we're trying to watch a movie! So just shut the fuck up!" then one little boy had enough courage to answer her back, "You shut up, hehehe!" The girl just tried to intimidate him by saying "What'd you just say? What'd you saY?" End of that battle.
Once more the roar echoed and this time me, myfriend, the girls my friend knew, and this kid and his girlfriend that were about our age (16) just started verbally attacking them at the same time, "Shut up!", "Shut up you little fuckers!", "Stop talking you pieces of shit!" and finally, my favorite "I will destroy you, little girl!" uttered the kid with his girlfriend. I just began to crack up, at both what he just said and at the complete chaos that had just erupted in the middle of the theatre!
Haha, good times. I still wonder what the 40-something year-old fat lady, with her sister or someone, was thinking.
Now, please, feel free to add your quirky movie theatre experience. After all, this is a thread dedicated to only that.
