I cant stand full screen dvds. Like i know so many people that are anti widescreen and i think they are nuts. I like seeing the full move the way it was intended to be seen i like seeing all of my picture.... My family is anti Wide Screen, I just don't understand why...

I like seeing the full move the way it was intended to be seen i like seeing all of my picture.... not all the movies are intended to be seen in Widescreen. Some movies are shot specifically for widescreen and others full. thats why there are two different types of FIlm prints Flat (Which is basically Full screen) and SCOPE (which is Wide).

I have mostly widescreen DVDs, but some movies like Child's Play are only available in full frame.

Ya their are a full only out in wide. I think chuck is full since the dvd come out when dvds were really new and their hasnt been a new dvd of chucky yet. Im sure when the remake comes out we will see a new chucky dvd in widescreen.
I never understand how some people hate widescreen, Some people say its cutting off the picture, when infact its only cutting off what was never meet to be seen.

Wide screen for me.
I hate full screen because it stretches the movie a bit (which depends on how big your tv is) and it'll look crap on a HDTV. No one else at school believes me though.

Yes finally besides in full screen they looked stretched like that when they are in full screen. I think in full screen they look like they are to big for the screen. That's why Wide screen is so much better.

Can't they make versions were they don't have to cut off any of the screens picture and stretch it out to wide screen?

Well its not really cutting off anything. When the shot is framed its framed in widescreen so the stuff at the top isnt ment to be seen at all.

Right, and some people just don't understand that. Really in reality dvd wide screen are meant for wide screen tv's with those kind of tv's you don't see the black bars on top or bottom then it's like watching it in full screen with a clear screen.

I like Widescreen fullscreen. I hate having a 50" TV and getting those damn black stripes over and under the picture... Format who fits the entire screen is by far my favorite.
When your are the cinema you dont get those stupid black stripes so why should you have them at home...

I definitely prefer widescreen. The only fullscreen DVDs I do have are ones that I got as gifts from family, and now I make sure to tell them that I only want widescreen. Thankfully, they're good listeners.
